An accountant for 29 years, Sara Laidlaw started her career with a small firm on Hilton Head Island, SC in 1982.  She joined the firm of Spillane, Rhoads, Lebey and Seig, CPAs in 1984 as admin staff and a compilation accountant. She was the Director of Accounting Services when the firm merged with Price Waterhouse in 1987.
A year later, she purchased the write-up department from Price Waterhouse and founded Accounting Services Bureau, Inc. 

In 2000, after reaching a staff of six, Sara decided to downsize her client base and staff and now enjoys working out of her property located on Wilmington Island. 

Formerly from Charlotte, NC,  Sara resides on Wilmington Island with her husband, Mark and enjoys singing in the Sacred Heart Catholic Folk group on Sunday nights. 

Sara is a QUICKBOOKS CERTIFIED PROADVISOR - "Certified" Proadvisor means a three part test has been completed.  This test is taken annually.  Be careful when hiring a regular "Proadvisor." This simply means they paid $600+ to join and they own a box of the software.  Click here for Intuit Website.

Karen Schaut is our Senior Full Charge Bookkeeper.  She has been with us for nine years and is responsible for many of our daily bookkeeping clients.  She is proficient in QuickBooks and specializes in non-profit accounting.  Karen juggles three children and a husband and enjoys flexible hours and working remotely at Accounting Services Bureau!

Angela Ogletree is our newest addition to our bookkeeping staff and has been with us for over a year.  She lives on Wilmington Island and comes to us with an accounting and engineering background.  She also enjoys flexible hours and working remotely!
